A |     세계 110여 개국·3500여 명 참여부산의 지식문화 역사 세계에 소개                   신라대 부산학센터 전시 배너를 살펴보고 있다. 신라대 제공신라대학교 부산학센터가 지난 10~13일까지 부산 벡스코에서 열린 ‘2026 부산 세계도서관정보대회(WLIC)’ 국제 전시 공모에 선정돼 부산의 독서문화와 도서관 역사를 세계에 알렸다. 이번 대회에는 세계 110여 개국에서 3500여 명의 도서관·정보 분야 관계자가 참여했다. 신라대 부산학센터는 이번 대회 ‘도서관 홍보거리’에 ‘부산: 전쟁과 혼란 속에서도 멈추지 않은 독서의 도시’를 주제로 한·영 병기 전시를 선보였다. 전시는 전쟁 전·중·후 세 시기로 구성해 부산이 국내 도서관의 시원(始原)지였다는 점과 전쟁과 혼란 속에서도 이어진 부산의 독서문화를 소개했다. 특히 한국전쟁 당시에도 학급 독서 계획을 세우고 독서를 이어간 교사의 일기와 피란교실에서 제작된 학교 교지, 보수동 골목에서 책을 읽는 아이들의 모습 등을 통해 전쟁 속에서도 이어진 부산의 독서문화를 보여줬다. 또한 부산으로 피란 온 국립도서관 직원들이 장서를 지켰던 이야기와 피란지 부산에서 국회도서관이 문을 열게 된 과정 등 부산이 전쟁 중 지식과 정보의 중심 역할을 했던 사례도 함께 소개했다. 전쟁 이후 부산의 도서관 문화가 발전해 온 과정도 조명했다. 1957년 경남고등학교가 국내 최초로 개가제 학교도서관을 운영하며 전국적인 학교도서관 운동의 출발점이 된 사례와 부산시립도서관(현 시민도서관)이 보유한 국내 유일본 도서 등을 소개하며 부산의 지식문화유산을 알렸다. 이번 전시는 부산시 제7회 피란수도 논문공모전 최우수상 수상 연구를 바탕으로 제작됐다. 이와 함께 ‘K CULTURE ZONE’에는 부산학센터 김경희 선임연구위원이 책임연구를 맡은 ‘부산의 도서관 공간지도’를 활용한 전시도 마련됐다. 부산 16개 구·군에 분포한 공공·대학·학교·전문·특수도서관의 현황과 특성을 지도에 담아 부산의 도서관 인프라와 지식문화 공간을 한눈에 살펴볼 수 있도록 했다. 유영명 부산학센터장은 “이번 전시를 통해 전쟁과 혼란의 시기에도 지식과 독서문화가 이어졌던 부산의 이야기를 세계 도서관·정보 분야 관계자들에게 소개할 수 있어 뜻깊었다”며 “앞으로도 부산의 역사와 문화에 대한 연구 성과를 바탕으로 부산의 지식문화 가치를 알리는 다양한 활동을 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.。    Adelaide (Australia), Oct 12 (UNI) An Australian zoo is investigating the sudden deaths of seven female quokkas and two yellow-footed rock-wallabies.
Why the marsupials died remains a mystery but "plant toxicity" is believed to be the most likely cause, an Adelaide Zoo spokeswoman was quoted as saying by the BBC.
The vet team is confident it was an isolated incident but further investigation was under way, she said.
No animals from other exhibits have shown signs of being unwell since the deaths, which happened last month.
"The loss of one animal, let alone a large group in a sudden incident such as this, is extremely upsetting, particularly for those who care for them," the spokeswoman said.
An 11-month-old quokka joey survived and is recovering in the zoo's health centre. The remaining three male quokkas have been taken off the exhibit, the BBC reported.
Other yellow-footed rock-wallabies and kangaroos were "noticeably flat" after the incident but have now recovered fully, the zoo said.
Pathology and toxicology reports have so far been inconclusive, but the zoo is carrying out more tests to discover what caused the animals to become sick.
The zoo breeds both native marsupials species, which are listed as vulnerable in the wild, the report said.
Often dubbed "the world's happiest animal", quokkas are darlings of tourist photos on social media.
But less than 15,000 remain in the wild, most on Western Australia's Rottnest Island.
